APCO International is currently working on the distribution of the two Public Service Announcements (PSAs) created and previewed at Conference. These PSAs are part of APCO International's campaign to improve awareness of the proper use of 9-1-1 and what the public can expect should they have to use the system. Using humor, they address two very serious issues hampering our public safety professionals' ability to provide emergency service to the public - the mis-use of 9-1-1 for non-emergencies and the lack of accurate location information from calls made from mobile phones. Utah APCO sends our thoughts and prayers to the family of Officer Charles Skinner, the North Salt Lake Police officer killed in a car accident while on duty. Donations to the family of Officer Skinner may be made at any Zion's bank location. He leaves behind a wife and two 1-month-old twins.
